Vulnerability: The Power of Being Seen
I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Taryn Marie Stejskal, a resilience expert, coach, and keynote speaker, about the power of vulnerability on a recent podcast episode. We discussed how vulnerability can be used to build stronger relationships, create more meaningful work, and ultimately live a more fulfilling life.
Dr. Taryn Marie shared some of her own personal experiences with vulnerability, and how it has helped her to overcome challenges and achieve her goals. She talked about how being vulnerable can be scary, but it is also essential for growth and connection.
Here are some of the key reflections that I gleaned about vulnerability from my conversation with Dr. Taryn Marie:
Vulnerability is the willingness to be seen and known, even when it's uncomfortable.
Vulnerability is about being open to the possibility of being hurt, but also the possibility of being loved.
Vulnerability is about showing up as our true selves, even when we're afraid.
I believe that vulnerability is one of the most important qualities that a person can have. It allows us to be authentic and to connect with others on a deeper level. It also helps us to be more bold.
I encourage you to embrace vulnerability in all of its forms. Here are some tips I have found most useful when it comes to embracing vulnerability:
🙌 Be honest with yourself and with others. This can be difficult, but it is essential for building trust and intimacy.
🗣️ Be willing to share your thoughts and feelings, even if they are uncomfortable. This can be scary, but it is the only way to truly connect with others on a deep level.
💭 Be open to feedback and criticism. This can be tough, but it is important for growth and learning.
🚀 Be willing to take risks and to step outside of your comfort zone. This can be exhilarating, but it is the only way to grow and experience new things.
Vulnerability is not always easy. I’ve lived most of life in fear of it, but it’s ultimately worth it. When we are vulnerable, we open ourselves up to the possibility of connection, growth, and transformation.
So go out there and be vulnerable my friends! The world needs more of it…I’m surely embracing my own unique path to vulnerability.
