Memorial Day weekend has afforded me greater reflection in thought and spirit to all those who have fallen, and for those who still carry on despite life's challenges. I was fortunate enough to be a recent guest on The Autoimmune Hour podcast hosted by Sharon Sayler, MBA, PCC. It's estimated that 1 in 5 people in the United States has an autoimmune disorder, which is roughly about 20% of the population. From Celiac disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Type 1 diabetes to Lupus, living with an autoimmune disease can be a difficult cross to bear especially when there seems to be very little cure in sight.
